This is one of those sessions that starts out rough and kills a parent's enthusiasm about getting great pictures. I'm an honest person, and sometimes that gets the best of me - I nonchalantly made the comment 'I've yet to have a good experience right off the bat when a child has just awoken from a nap.' DOPE! Who does that? Gave myself a giant slap on the wrist for that, because I am normally pretty careful with my words, but I was asked and .. well I'm also a truth teller, and that was the truth. Luckily it wasn't held against me as I meant no harm by it and we ended up having fun chasing this little one around.
Once she got over the crankiness of being woken {which I'm sure we can ALL relate to, would you want your pictures taken when you were trying to nap? ... me either! haha.} she was full of laughs and had so much fun riding her bike, playing with balloons and hitting up the beach. She was quick though, sitting down was not going to be an option so I knew this would be a matter of quick shooting {which luckily for me, I'm a pro at. ;] ;]} and a workout. She must have known, this lady needs to get some excercise - I am just the person for the job, because by the end of the shoot I was ready for a nap.
Anyway, despite the rough start and despite having to chase her around to get the good ones.... I managed to get some pretty timeless photographs of her that I personally adore. Take a gander:
