Carter/Hayden

Angie and Dustin had a private ceremony at the Eagle Point Lodge in Galena, IL. If you've never been to Galena, it is absolutely breath taking... the architecture alone is a photographer's playground, simply incredible. I really enjoyed this couple's spontaneity in deciding to have a small 'spur of the moment' ceremony, initially they'd contacted me about doing a wedding next year some time.

I personally enjoy intimate weddings over the larger weddings, simply because it gives both myself and the couple less stress. Less people to worry about, less formals, less 'we must do this at this time and this at this time and this and this and this and this..' Which is not to say I don't also love the flow of larger weddings, just the intimate events appeal more to my carefree/stress free way of life.

It was short, simple and to the point with a little humor. Dustin's vows were both endearing and comical, which I admire. I definitely treasure being part of moments like this, where two families become one.

Angie has been one of my favorite brides; she's expressed gratitude and let me know exactly how she felt about her photographs. You'd be surprised, sometimes all a photographer needs to know is that you approve of their work. I am often, by nature, on pins and needles when delivering wedding photos. A lot of times there are certain expectations, about formals primarily, that fall through or I deliver photos and hear crickets.... only to find a referral months later in which I go ''phew''. But Angie has let me know she approves in several wonderful gestures and I truly am thankful to have been a part of their day.

Wish you all health and happiness. Here's a look at their day:
