Mr. & Mrs. Ellis

Alexandra & Evan

I was with this couple for only four short hours and was able to capture some of the most beautiful photographs of the season. We were able to shoot somewhere I was familiar with, which enabled me to get control of the lighting conditions quickly. Thankfully Strawberry Farm Bed and Breakfast in Muscatine welcomed us with open arms. :)

However, I will not lie... I was a bit worried about shooting in direct sunlight during that ceremony but the strangest thing occurred - it seemed like during all the main parts of the ceremony the sun went under the clouds filtering the most perfect lighting conditions for an outdoor wedding. I know I sound like a mad woman talking about light, but really... lighting IS everything in photography and it felt like mother nature was on our side that day giving up exactly what we needed.

For me, this didn't even feel like a wedding, it was very casual, very carefree... and most importantly stress free. Great couple, great wedding party, and great family - everyone was very friendly, polite and didn't make me feel uncomfortable or like they wished they didn't have to take pictures with me... it really was a very passive, easy-going day and those are my favorite kind of days.

I wish you both the best of luck and I am incredibly thankful to have been chosen to photograph your wedding. Thank you again so much!

P.S. To all my bride's gunning for a glimpse at some of my second shooters - I had the lovely miss Jennifer along with me that day, who I have asked to be my primary second shooter at all costs and there are a few shots in here from her : flower girl, bride and groom walking away, ring shots, bride looking down alone - these were all photographed by her and edited by yours truly. So set your worries aside.. you are in good hands.
